Pineios Dam is located at a distance of 20 km in a straight line from the mouth of the river in the Ionian Sea. Its construction began in 1961 and was successfully completed seven years later, with the creation of the artificial lake Pineios. It has a height of 50 meters, a total length of 2,200 meters and the area of its basin is 723 kilometers. This is one of the most important infrastructure projects of the Prefecture, which contributes to the water supply of the crops of the surrounding areas. This point of interest is Flat and Rural.
