The Holy Church of Agios Ioannis the Forerunner, located on the south side of the village of Kydonia, is the old church of the settlement which was a monastery in the Byzantine years. It is an imposing stone-built church, while its remarkable wood-carved iconostasis and Hagiographies date from the 18th century. Externally, a bell tower rises above the main entrance of the Church, in the middle of which is the clock, while at the top is fixed the cross .
