Agrinio is a city in the Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania and the seat of the homonymous Municipality. It is located on the east side of the river Acheloos and on the western shores of Lake Trichonida. It is about 78 kilometers from Nafpaktos and about 40 kilometers from Amfilochia, while together with Patras and Ioannina they are the three largest urban centers in the western part of the country. During the Turkish occupation it was called Vrachori and according to the 2011 census it consists of 46,899 inhabitants. This point of interest is Plain and Urban.
