Mataraga is a lowland village in the Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania. It is built at an altitude of 100 meters, north of Mount Arakynthos and south of Lake Trichonis. It borders the settlements of Pappadates and Agia Marina, while it is 17.5 km from Agrinio. According to the 2011 census, the population is 1,344 inhabitants.
