A few kilometers outside Messolonghi, on the road to Aetoliko, you will see the church of Panagia Finikia, in the homonymous location. The small church, built in 1804, is located on an islet in the waters of the lagoon.

The small church stands haughtily among the salt pans and integrates perfectly with the landscape, turning it, beyond a place of pilgrimage, into a unique attraction that enchants every visitor with its picturesqueness.

Finikia was, in addition, the favorite destination of Lord Byron for rest, during his stay in Messolonghi.
