The Church of the Genesis of Agios Ioannis of Timios Prodromos dominates the center of the village of Dokimi. It is a fairly large church with a dome, which is internally decorated with a carved wooden iconostasis and impressive paintings. Externally it consists of two bell towers that rise on either side of the main entrance, as well as a spacious courtyard. Every year, on June 24, the feast day of St. John the Baptist, a solemn Divine Liturgy is celebrated and a procession of the holy image of the Saint follows, in the presence of a large number of inhabitants. This point of interest is Plain and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
