Mount Panaitoliko is located northeast of Agrinio and is the highest mountain in the Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania. It is a fairly extensive mountain range with many separate peaks, which start from the area of ​​Lake Kremasta and reach Trichonida. The slopes of the mountain are covered with rich fir forests and plenty of water, making it a protected area, according to the Natura 2000 program.
