The historic Holy Monastery of the Ascension in the town of Midilogli is a Byzantine imperial monastery built in 1699 and renovated in 1703. It is located in a very privileged position offering a magnificent view of the Gulf of Patras and, during the Revolution of 1821, was one of the Old man of Moria, Theodoros Kolokotronis, and his troops. The Holy Metropolitan Church of Evangelistria is located in the center of Patras and is the first public building built in Kato Poli after the liberation by the Turks in 1828. It was founded in 1842, inaugurated in 1846 and since 1856 is the Metropolitan Church of Patras. It is triune as there are three holy Altar in it. In terms of its structure, it is classified as a neoclassical building of the Patras belle epoque and is one of the architectural jewels of the city. This point of interest is Plain and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
