The Holy Monastery of Prophet Elias is located at the eastern end of Patras. The naidrio of Prophet Elias was formerly a part of the Nursing Home Monastery and in 1821 it was completely destroyed by the Turks. Then it was completely renovated and took the form it has today under the supervision of the Metropolitan of Old Patras Germanos. In 1968 it was detached from the Nursing Home Monastery and became an independent Convent Nunnery. Inside the monastery are the Chapel of the Holy Cross which was erected in 1982 in honor of the discovery of a handmade Byzantine Cross, where it is divinely engraved on a piece of pine wood, and the Chapel of Saint Osioparthenomartyrus Fevronia. This point of interest is Plain and Urban. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
