A' Municipal Cemetery

The First Cemetery of Patras is located in the Zavlani district and was founded in 1880 by decision of the then mayor Athanasios Kanakaris-Roufos. In the same year, the Holy Temple of Agia Paraskevi was built inside the cemetery, which was demolished by earthquakes in 1993 and rebuilt on the same site. It consists of four hills, the hill of Agia Paraskevi at the place where the church is located, the hill of the fighters where there are the graves of many fighters of the Revolution of 1821, the hill of Roufos where the family memory of Benizelos Roufos is located, and finally the hill of the Germans where many Germans were buried during the Occupation. This point of interest is Plain and Urban. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. Visitable hours: MON-SUN: 7:00 - 17:30.
