The Holy Monastery of Omplos is one of the most historic Monasteries in Greece and is located on the homonymous mountain Omplos. Built in 1189, it has an area of ​​1800 sq.m. about and is dedicated to the Entrances of the Virgin. He took an active part in all the Liberation Struggles of the Nation and, for this reason, was destroyed by every conqueror who passed through the area. It functioned as a supply center during the Revolution of 1821 and in the code of the Monastery there is a difficult reference to the beginning of the Revolution, according to which on March 3, 1821 the revolution of Moria arrived in Omplos, possibly due to a meeting of dignitaries at the point of the course of Games.
