The Holy Monastery of Agios Ioannis Prodromos is about 2 km northwest of the village of Vombokou. It dates back to the 11th century and is built on a plateau on the steep slope of Mount Rigani, offering enjoyable views of the natural landscape and the sea that stretches in front of it. The katholikon of the monastery was built in 1965, it is made of stone with a dome and the interior is decorated with elaborate paintings. The spacious enclosure has plants and trees, as well as the monks' cells. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport.
