The Holy Temple that dominates the center of the village of Myrtia is dedicated to Agios Athanasios, who is also the patron saint of the settlement. It is a large church, which has two high bell towers on either side of its main entrance and is framed by a manicured courtyard, on which stands the imposing monument of the Heroes.
