The forest of Fraxos is located near Lessini, west of the river Achelous Delta and belongs to the National Park of Messolonghi - Aetoliko. Rare in its kind, the forest of Fraxos was declared in 1985 a protected "Monument of Nature".

Its current area reaches about 500 acres and is a paradise of flora and fauna. It is a diverse landscape with many species of plants and trees (age-old fraxes, silver whites, elms, silver lilies, etc.). It hosts a significant number of birds, while reptiles and amphibians abound in the area.

The forest of Fraxos is one of the most important forest ecosystems in Greece and is of global scientific interest, due to its ecological and biological value. It is also distinguished for its incomparable natural beauty, impressing every visitor who chooses to visit it.
