The Holy Monastery of Skafidia is located next to the homonymous beach and near the mouth of the Iardanos river. It is a stone-built imposing monastery, dating from the 12th century and dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin. It preserves many important relics, while it has a library and a museum. Its katholikon was destroyed and rebuilt in 1887 as a one-room, royal style with a pronaos and a portico. It is a nunnery and celebrates on the 15th of August. This point of interest is Plain and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
