Petrona is a settlement of Aitoloakarnania and the seat of the homonymous local community that belongs to the Municipality of Amfilochia. It is built between the rivers Acheloos and Inachos, while it is surrounded by the mountain range of Kanala and Pentalfa. It is about 42 kilometers from Amfilochia and was formerly called Bunikevos.
