The Church of Agios Nikolaos dominates the central square of Astakos. It is the most important and largest church in the town, while it is a three-aisled basilica with three niches. The interior is decorated with beautiful murals of special design and Byzantine style. In the spacious courtyard are the burial monuments of prominent priests of the city, while it also has a tall bell tower with a clock. This point of interest is Coastal and Rural.
