The Holy Monastery of Profitis Ilias is located in Makrisia and specifically on a hill with centuries-old pinecones and excellent views. The church internally consists of a chessboard-style floor and a marble iconostasis decorated with icons of various Saints. West of the Temple there is a stone building, which houses the cells of the monks and the library of the Monastery. A few years ago, three nuns lived in the monastery, who were active in agriculture, animal husbandry, textiles and candle making. Today, there are no nuns, except believers, who visit the Monastery to light a candle and celebrate the Prophet Elias on the day of July 20th. This point of interest is Flat and Urban. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport.
