Village

Gryllos (Mountriza)

Gryllos is a village that belongs to the Municipality of Andritsaina in the Prefecture of Ileia and is only 7 kilometers from Krestena, where you can reach after an impressive route, between vineyards, olive groves and pine trees. It is built on two levels, Pano Chorio and Kato Chorio, known as Hani. It is located on the slope of Mount Lapitha, on the road that leads to Andritsaina and the famous Temple of Epicurean Apollo. The old name of the settlement was Mountriza, a diminutive of the word Mountra, which means fountain. Despite the devastating fires it suffered in 2007, the area's vegetation has now fully recovered, giving the 120 permanent residents the opportunity to engage in olive growing. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. https://el-gr.facebook.com/grillosfoto/ Source of photographic material: Facebook Website: Grillos live Photography - (https://www.facebook.com/grillosfoto/?ref=page_internal).
