The Church of Agios Ioannis Episkopi is located south of the village of Mastros. It was built in the 8th or 9th century and is the most important Byzantine monument in the area. Its architectural structure has a special archaeological value and the wall paintings date back to the 12th to 13th century. Some are preserved, as well as part of the mosaic floor.
