Village

Dafni

Dafni is a lowland village in the prefecture of Ileia, 8 km from Amaliada and is located southwest of the artificial lake Pineios. The permanent residents of the settlement reach 515 and are mainly engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. Until 1957 the village was called Damiza. Nearby, in the place Lakkathela, has been found an ancient Mycenaean cemetery of chambered tombs with many important finds, while a little further is the historic monastery of Agios Vlasios. Every summer the Daphne festival Dimitris L. Lagadinos is held, during which many events take place with a large crowd. This point of interest is Flat and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
