Peristeri

Peristeri is a semi-mountainous village south of the artificial lake of Pineios. During the Turkish occupation it belonged to the kaza of Gastouni and was called Besere. The local district of Peristeri belongs to the municipal unit of Amaliada of the Municipality of Ilida and includes the villages of Asteraika and Paleolanthi. According to the 2011 census, the population of the village amounts to 309 inhabitants, while the community to 363. In their daily life they are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry.
