Cape Araxos (better known as Paralimni) is a small riparian settlement and is located near the homonymous cape and the Lagoon of Araxos. The first inhabitants came from the settlement of Profitis Ilias (old name: Gerbesi) of Kalavrita, and for this reason the original name of the settlement was Mesa Gerbesi.
