The Peiros Parapiros Dam consists of two separate dams, the small Valmatouras Dam and the extensive earthen dam Asteriou with the homonymous artificial lake, while it is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Achaia as it supplies water to the municipalities of Patras, Erymanthos and West Achaia.
