The celebration of Agios Nikolaos of Spata takes place every year on May 10 in the monastery of the same name which is flooded with pilgrims. This is a very well-known celebration both in Achaia and in Ilia, as Agios Nikolaos is considered particularly miraculous in the local community. During the celebration the monastery remains open 24 hours a day as dozens of pilgrims from the surrounding areas arrive there walking more than 6 to 10 hours in order to fulfill their vow. Visitors can spend the night at the Monastery and enjoy local delicacies and roasts from the various outdoor merchants and vendors in the area. This point of interest is Flat and Rural.
