Taxiarchis is a small mountainous traditional settlement built at an altitude of 480 meters, near Lake Trichonida. It is one of the settlements of the historical Apokouros and traces of an ancient settlement, ruins of two temples of the 6th century as well as various findings of great archaeological value that are exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Thermo have been discovered in the area.
