Every year, events of remembrance and honor are held for the victims of the Holocaust in the martyred city of Kalavrita. On 13-12-1943, the Germans executed 499 civilians in Kalavrita in a brutal manner. The massacre of Kalavrita is the most serious case of war crime in Greece and is internationally recognized as an act of shame for all civilized humanity.
