The Byronic Society of the Holly City of Messolonghi was founded in 1991 and is an international Center for Research and Study of the life and work of Lord Byron. It also aims to highlight the idea of ​​Philhellenism and many other philhellenes who sacrificed, helping the Greek Revolution of 1821.

The Byronic Society is housed in the building where the great Romantic poet, Lord Byron, lived and has developed important activities inside and outside Greece, such as international conferences, lectures, tributes, musical and theatrical performances and exhibitions. It has a rich library with rare collections of books, which is open to the public.
