The Holy Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a landmark of Aigio and one of the most impressive buildings in the city. It is a neoclassical church of the 19th century with admirable architecture, on the site of an older one that was built prior to 1700 but was destroyed by an earthquake in 1861. In antiquity, on the site of the temple there was the Heraion. This point of interest is Coastal and Urban. It is accessible all year round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
