The Metropolitan Church of Panagia Faneromeni is the most imposing building of Aigio and a typical example of the once prosperous life of the city. The first and smallest church was built in 1366 but was destroyed in 1861 by an earthquake. The church was rebuilt in 1899 resulting in a Byzantine cruciform church of impressive architectural structure, 25 meters high. This point of interest is Coastal and Urban. It is accessible all year round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
