The historic Holy Monastery of the Greatest Brigadiers is located on the right bank of Selinounta, in a verdant place with plenty of water. It was founded in 1450 by Agios Leontius in a different location, was destroyed three times during the Ottoman Rule and was rebuilt in its current location in 1775. The architectural structure of the monastery is admirable and was a remarkable revolutionary center. The most important treasure of the monastery is the Inexhaustible Passions of Christ, which means the pieces of the Sacred Wood, the crown of thorns, the cloak, the reed, the sponge and the nails, which, despite the destruction of the monastery, remain intact to this day. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. It is accessible all year round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
