A day of honor and remembrance for the Battle of Langada, one of the most important battles of 1821, after it managed to stop a Turkish army of 4,000 men that had been sent to quell the newly formed Revolution in the Peloponnese. Gogos Bacolas, with about 100 young men, managed to prevent the Turks from crossing Makrinoros, causing them such devastation that for more than a year, the Turks did not dare to cross the area again.
